Supporting the Peconic Estuary
For a healthy thriving ecosystem
Infographics and Design for the Peconic Estuary Ecosystem 2020 Plan
We worked with the Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP) to create their 2020 Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) to allow PEP to clearly communicate their strategic vision to a broad range of stakeholders. The CCMP 2020 - designed for both digital and print - supports the conservation, restoration and growth of the Peconic Estuary and its watershed.
Our Work Includes: INFOGRAPHICS, PUBLICATIONS
PROJECT IMPACT
To help PEP clearly communicate their strategic vision and plans for the future to a broad range of non-expert audiences.
Our Partner:
PEP is a cooperative effort between the state of New York State, Suffolk County, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the scientific community, and the citizens of the Peconic Estuary watershed. PEP's mission is to protect and restore the Peconic Estuary Watershed.
This Organization's Focus:
Visually engaging, accessible design allows stakeholders from a variety of audiences to easily grasp the estuary's goals, objectives and actions.
The CCMP is designed to read easily in both digital and print formats.
Map and Infographics placed throughout the CCMP help highlight the needs of the estuary to encourage support and action.
This infographic conveys the complexity and interconnectedness of climate change impacts on the estuary ecosystem.
This infographic highlights the challenges facing the estuary.
We redesigned GIS maps to make them more clear and visually engaging.
This map highlights the dramatic decline in eelgrass across the estuary.
Color and Icons used consistently throughout the design highlight the 4 overarching goals of the CCMP.
“Choosing Background Stories for the design and lay-out of our Conservation Management Plan was one of the best decisions we ever made! Their team created a series of infographics that relay scientific information in a clear and aesthetically pleasing manner. They worked hard to understand all of our requests and were able to deftly produce two documents and an announcement postcard for us that has a beautiful layout, excellent communication and graphics and is something we are all immensely proud of and happy with. A wonderful team to work with on all fronts!”
