The IPCC is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. We collaboratively designed 24 figures for the IPCC AR6 Synthesis Report together with 50+ climate scientists and with input and approval by 195 governments.

The climate graphic that went global
Arlene proposed and designed illustrations of human generations and combined them with climate stripes—created by climate scientist Ed Hawkins—as part of the first figure of this IPCC report.
The resulting figure gained global attention. It was described by Axios as “the one UN report climate graphic you need to see” and by Climatica as “the climate figure everyone is talking about.”
From news headlines to social media feeds, the human generations + climate stripes graphic spread worldwide—capturing attention, sparking conversation, and inspiring spin-offs—while powerfully showing how climate change will affect generations.
